Dallas Afterschool names Director of Advocacy

The organization makes afterschool care better with attention to safety, quality, access and equity.

Dallas Afterschool, a nonprofit that works to level the playing field for children of all races and economic backgrounds by supporting afterschool and summer programs, has added a new Director of Advocacy.

Yanela Montoya assumes the role after serving as Special Assistant to the CEO and Stewardship Manager at Texas 2036. She holds a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Previously, Montoya spent five years in the classroom as an early childhood educator with Teach For America. publishes every week.
