Dallas Afterschool names Director of Advocacy

The organization makes afterschool care better with attention to safety, quality, access and equity.

Dallas Afterschool, a nonprofit that works to level the playing field for children of all races and economic backgrounds by supporting afterschool and summer programs, has added a new Director of Advocacy.

Yanela Montoya assumes the role after serving as Special Assistant to the CEO and Stewardship Manager at Texas 2036. She holds a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Previously, Montoya spent five years in the classroom as an early childhood educator with Teach For America.
