Parkland Hospital Working with Dallas First Responders

The Dallas Observer reports that Parkland Hospital is working with Dallas police and fire departments to better respond to 911 crisis calls involving mental health issues.

Parkland Hospital has placed a social worker at the dispatch center to help determine calls needing additional support. A special team with a mental health professional is sent to the call.

The program has targeted the South-Central Dallas area.
