Funding for SNAP Process and Technology Improvement

  • Funder: Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service
  • Due date: August 6, 2025
  • Award range: up to $2 million
  • Expected number of awards: 12
  • Cost sharing required? No
  • Eligibility: Nonprofits, state governments, public and private agencies providing health or welfare services, public health or educational entities, Indian Tribal Organizations

Summary: Objectives of this grant are: 1. Modernize SNAP customer service and client communication to improve efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in application processing and eligibility determinations. 2. Improve administrative infrastructure and day-to-day SNAP operations in processing applications and determining eligibility 3. Invest in technology and systems to coordinate application and eligibility determination processes, including verification practices, between SNAP and other Federal, State, and local assistance programs.

Funding for Rural Communities

  • Funder: Department of Agriculture, Rural Housing Service
  • Due date: August 7, 2025
  • Expected number of awards: 30
  • Award range: up to $500,000
  • Cost sharing required? Yes
  • Eligibility: Nonprofits, for profits, small businesses, independent school districts, public housing authorities, Indian housing authorities, institutions of higher education, and state, county, local, and Tribal governments

Summary: The RCDI structure requires the intermediary (grantee) to provide a program of financial and technical assistance to recipients to develop their capacity and ability to undertake projects related to housing, community facilities, or community and economic development. The recipients will, in turn, provide programs that will support their communities (beneficiaries). The Intermediary will be required to provide matching funds in an amount at least equal to the RCDI grant.
