LISD launches podcast to magnify positive stories in public education

The new media resource supports efforts to create public education that prepares students of every income level and race to achieve their boldest aspirations.

Leadership ISD (LISD) has launched a micro-podcast that shines a spotlight on the positives of public education in Tarrant County.

LISD is a statewide nonprofit that equips community leaders to advance academic excellence and racial equity in public education through advocacy, policy, and school board governance.

The organization’s new I Love Public Schools Micro-Podcast highlights and amplifies success stories in public schools across the region, as well as the grassroots work of the Leadership ISD team. Each of the five episodes feature first-hand accounts from local educational leaders, such as a school board trustee from Fort Worth Independent School District, and a retired teacher who returned to the classroom amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

LISD has trained over 2,500 advocates and 100’s of school board trustees that serve 1.6 million public school students in Dallas, Tarrant, and Harris Counties— representing one-third of public school students in Texas.
