Leadership ISD expands board

Board Members to Enhance Equity Efforts in Texas

Leadership ISD (LISD), a public-benefit 501c3 organization that works to improve equity and outcomes in Texas public education, announces the addition of 4 new board members.  Board members will continue the efforts of LISD to ensure students of every race and income level have access to education that prepares them for achieving their boldest aspirations.

New board members include:

Jerry Hawkins – Executive Director – Dallas Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation

Miguel Solis –  Former School Board President, DISD and Executive Director, Coalition for  a New Dallas

John Kennelly – Retired Vice President, Toyota

Alicia McGlinchey – Retired Attorney & Community Volunteer

“I am excited to welcome this exceptionally experienced cohort to our Board of Directors.  They bring a wealth of knowledge, commitment to equity in public education, and enthusiasm for increasing our impact,” says LISD CEO, Patricia Arvanitis

The four new members join existing board members Amy Isom, Todd Williams, George Tang, Lanet Greenhaw, Arlene Ford, and JJ Ponce. 

ABOUT LEADERSHIP ISD

Leadership ISD is a public-benefit 501c3 organization that works to improve equity in public education for more than 1.6 million students in Texas school districts to ensure that all students of every income level and race receive an education that prepares them for achieving their boldest aspirations.  LISD prepares community leaders, parents, educators, and school board trustees to champion policies and practices that promote improving outcomes for all students and eliminating systemic opportunity gaps for children marginalized by race and poverty. LISD currently operates in Dallas, Tarrant and Harris counties.
