Dallas Innovates shared how Paul Quinn College in Dallas faced closure 12 years ago and college president Michael Sorrell changed the educational trajectory to push more students toward graduation.
When President Sorrell joined Paul Quinn College, he learned the college only had 30 days of cash remaining and the college’s graduation rate was less than one percent. Over 12 years, through an innovative approach to inclusive education, 74 percent of Paul Quinn’s alumni are employed, enrollment has increased 250 percent since 2010, and retention is up to 71 percent.
