Dr. Jonathan Pérez joins Leadership ISD

Jonathan Pérez, Ed.D. will join Leadership ISD as Program Director of Board Governance & Leadership. Dr. Pérez earned a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University and is an experienced educator, most recently having worked as an Equity Specialist with Fort Worth ISD.

“Combining my education and lived experiences, from being a high school dropout to now serving as an educator, mentor, advocate, and leader in my community has prepared me to recognize and confront inequities in our educational system and through institutional policies, practices, programs, and procedures,” says Pérez.

Seven thousand school board members are leading districts across Texas, representing the largest group of elected officials in the state. The Governance and Leadership team at Leadership ISD led by Cinto Ramos, Jr. aim to support this critical role that sits at the junction of policy and effective implementation of targeted improvement efforts.

Leadership ISD is a public-benefit 501c3 organization that works to improve equity in public education for more than 1.6 million students in Texas school districts to ensure that all students of every income level and race receive an education that prepares them for achieving their boldest aspirations.  LISD prepares community leaders, parents, educators, and school board trustees to champion policies and practices that promote improving outcomes for all students and eliminating systemic opportunity gaps for children marginalized by race and poverty. LISD operates across Texas with concentrations in Dallas, Tarrant and Harris counties.
