DMA Announces Grants Available to Local Artists

Awards to Artists

The Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund and The Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Fund were created at the Dallas Museum of Art in 1980 for the purpose of recognizing exceptional talent and potential in young visual artists. These funds seek applicants who show a commitment to continuing their artistic endeavors.

The Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund
Generally, awards do not exceed $1,500. 
Eligible artists must: 
a) be between 15 and 25 years of age. 
b) currently reside in the southwestern part of the United States (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, or Colorado) and have lived there for the past three years.

The Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Fund
Generally, awards do not exceed $3,500. 
Eligible artists must: 
a) be under 30 years of age. 
b) currently reside in Texas and have lived there for the past three years. 

The Otis and Velma Davis Dozier Travel Grant was established in 1990 to honor the memory of Dallas artists Otis and Velma Davis Dozier, who strongly believed in the enriching experiential and aesthetic influence of travel on an artist’s work. The grant seeks to recognize exceptional talent in professional Texas artists who wish to expand their artistic horizons through domestic or foreign travel. The fund does not cover tuition or artist residency programs.

Generally, awards do not exceed $6,000. 
Eligible artists must: 
a) be over 30 years of age.
b) currently reside in Texas and have lived there for the past three years. 
c) be a practicing professional.

Applications must be submitted via the digital form.

Two letters of recommendation must be submitted via the Awards to Artists Recommendation Form.

Application forms will be available from October 5, 2020, through January 31, 2021. 
Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Awardees will be notified in March–April 2021.
