Cook Children’s receives $100,000 grant from Bank of America for Fostering Health Program

Cook Children’s announced in a video posted on its Facebook page that Bank of America has granted the organization’s Fostering Health program $100,000 to help newly placed foster children.

This grant will help foster children receive important exams, evaluations and improve healthcare for abused and at-risk kids.

The Fostering Health program was started in the Fall of 2017 in response to a new law that was going to be passed requiring new children entering the foster care system to have a health screening within three business days of removal from their situation, as well as a well-child’s check up within 30 days.

The Fostering Health program takes care of children in foster care and kinship care. The program should now be able to better track children who move through different placements.
