KERA News reports that Catholic Charities of Fort Worth is addressing the “benefits cliff” facing many of their clients. Some workers turn down higher-paying jobs because the extra salary would disqualify them from public assistance.
Catholic Charities of Fort Worth will test two control groups to see if a gradual decrease in benefits combined with intensive case management would help their clients succeed longer. Along with two treatment groups, there would be a third control group which would continue as normal.
