Trinity Collaborative, the producer of Mayfest, has appointed Iris Bruton as incoming executive director following the retirement of Elizabeth Basham after a 14-year tenure.
Bruton, who has volunteered at Mayfest for over a decade, brings a history of experience in the non-profit sector to the position. Prior to her position at Trinity Collaborative, Bruton worked at multiple charitable organizations building collaborative partnerships, securing grants and developing program service offerings. She has held roles with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Historic Handley Development Corporation, Ameriprise Financial, and spent seven years creating nationally-recognized programs at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Trinity Collaborative, Inc. is a nonprofit that produces programs and events which promote Fort Worth experiences, advance community partnerships and connect citizens to the Trinity River and Fort Worth parks. Over its 50-year history, the organization has given more than $7,500,000 back to the community of Fort Worth.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead this organization and am excited to help Mayfest thrive as a signature North Texas family event that positively impacts Fort Worth and our founding partners,” Bruton said.
Outgoing executive director Basham cultivated significant community relationships, oversaw the development and implementation of a strategic plan, and expanded the operations of Trinity Collaborative during her tenure with the organization. She was an integral part of the growth and improvement of the festival.
