UWorld, a global leader in academic and professional education, has opened applications for its UWorld Cares Community Grants program. Grants are available to Dallas/Fort Worth-based 501(c)(3) organizations.

UWorld Cares, the company’s philanthropic arm, will increase funding to $250,000 this year as it invites community nonprofits to address skills gaps in the workforce and create a stronger pathway to higher education.

“We are excited to give back to our community through our UWorld Cares program so we can help reduce barriers to higher education,” said Chandra S. Pemmasani, M.D., founder and CEO of UWorld. “We continue to support the important work of our current organization partners while expanding the impact of this grant to new areas of STEM and financial education.”

Organizations focusing on middle and high school educational programming for STEM and financial literacy are eligible to apply for a grant. Groups must operate in Collin, Dallas, Denton, or Tarrant counties. Applications are available here and open through March 31, 2025. Grant winners will be notified in May. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Communities In Schools of Tarrant County, Dallas Afterschool, and The GEMS Camp have been past recipients.

“UWorld’s generous support has enabled high school mentors within our program to guide middle school participants more effectively, fostering a cycle of peer mentorship and leadership that strengthens our community,” said Saki Milton, Founder and Executive Director of The GEMS Camp. “By providing access to their premier SAT and AP test prep materials, UWorld has equipped our girls with the tools to succeed, paving the way for academic excellence, career achievement, and lifelong confidence.”
