United Way of Tarrant County’s Area Agency on Aging has shared they have received a $388,608 grant from the Administration for Community Living to help Tarrant County residents who have Alzheimer’s and dementia.
The grant will support the Model for Alzheimer’s/Dementia Services Focused on People Living Alone (MASPLA) project, which is a collaboration of non-profit agencies working to prolong safe and independent living in the community for people living alone with Alzheimer’s Disease/Related Dementia (ADRD).
“We are proud to be a part of such a collaborative project that will make a significant difference in meeting the needs of this vulnerable population,” said Don Smith, Vice President of Community Investment and Director of Area Agency on Aging at United Way of Tarrant County.
“Our goal is to sustain the dementia-capable home and community-based service system in Tarrant County.”
Project partners include Meals on Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County, Easterseals North Texas, Accommodating Healthcare, Right at Home, Alzheimer’s Association North Central Texas, Cancer Care Services, Guardianship Services, Inc., UNT Health Science Center and Dementia Friendly Fort Worth.
