Philanthropist Jerold “Jerry” Panas Passes Away at 89

Jerold “Jerry” Panas, founding partner of Jerold Panas, Linzy & Partners, passed away on July 14 at the age of 89. Panas was professionally involved in fundraising and financial resource development for over 40 years and was the keynote speaker at the 2016 DFW Philanthropy in Action Conference.

He is the author of 20 books on fundraising, including ASKING, which is the largest selling book in the history of fundraising, according to the Jerold Panas, Linzy & Partners website.

In 2013 he was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to philanthropy and fundraising. He also received the Chairman’s Award at the AFP International Conference in 2014 for his extraordinary contribution to the nonprofit sector.

Panas was the co-founder and chairman of the board of the Institute for Charitable Giving, one of the most significant providers of training in philanthropy
