NBC5 reports that a John Peter Smith (JPS) Health Network, located in Fort Worth, clinic is working to reduce number of same-day surgery cancellations.
The Surgical Optimization Clinic was established in 2016 to help patients get their needed surgeries and avoid cancellations. Staff work to ensure patients are in the best shape possible prior to their scheduled surgeries.
Since the optimization clinic was established, same-day surgery cancellations are down by 30%.
