North Texas Food Bank announced its first-ever container pantries are ready to deploy in some of their outlying service areas. Each trailer can hold roughly 150 cases of product, which could provide up to 120 individuals with 7 days of food. Each trailer is equipped with refrigeration and freezer space as well as ample room for shelf-stable products.
The innovative, client-choice pantries on wheels will travel to Ellis and Denton counties in partnership with Christian Community Action and Catholic Charities of Dallas to help the organizations assess the levels of food insecurities in those communities and determine where longer-term more sustainable solutions are needed.
