Give a Kid a Coat calls for donations after building fire

This story originally appeared on KHOU.com

A recent fire involving Dallas nonprofit Give a Kid a Coat destroyed hundreds of donated goods meant for students in schools across Dallas-Fort Worth and other cities.

KHOU reports “The fire happened at the north Dallas home of Give a Kid a Coat board member Sir Earl Toon. Many may know Sir Earl Toon from the renowned band Kool and the Gang.”

Other community groups such as Operation Community Care and L.I.L.Y.S. are stepping up to fill in the gaps that the fire has left during the next two weeks.
