Texas Care for Children reports that 37 Texas organizations, including several DFW nonprofits, have sent a letter to Governor Gregg Abbott and other Texas leaders to share their concerns about the treatment of children and adults at Texas-based immigration facilities.
Momentous Institute along with First 3 Years and Educational First Steps are advocating for the humane treatment of migrant children in immigration facilities and are urging Texas officials to consider the long-term consequences on the children from the lengthy stays at detention centers and separation from their parents.
