Dallas Morning News reports that Dallas City Council members voiced their support for a new mental health clinic to be built in south Dallas during a project briefing last week to the public safety and criminal justice committee.
The story reports that the proposed clinic “would provide not just physical, mental and behavioral health care, but also clinical training for students at nearby schools and a jail diversion program.”
Also reported is that the lack of available services south of I-30 in Dallas, as well as the increase in calls for help to emergency numbers in Dallas recently, means this new clinic is a much needed new resource for that area of the city.
