Child Care Associates (CCA), located in Fort Worth, announced Dr. Travis Davis has joined the agency as director of early education, a newly formed position at CCA designed to unify its infant, toddler and preschool-aged services into an aligned, educational offering for underprivileged children.
Dr. Davis received his Doctorate of Education in early childhood education from the University of North Texas (UNT), Denton, TX and his Master of Science, counselor education, from UNT as well. He acquired his Bachelor of Science degree, child development, from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK. Dr. Davis is past president of the Fort Worth Area Association for the Education of Young Children and the Denton Area Association for the Education of Young Children. He is currently the president of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC) state board and previously served as accreditation chair and young professionals chair of the organization.
“We are at a critical juncture in understanding the short-and long-term benefits of high-quality progressive early childhood education. Early childhood education that is child-centered, play-focused and values the whole child’s development has the opportunity to establish a positive trajectory for young children and families that can no longer be ignored,” said CCA Director of Early Education Dr. Travis Davis. “CCA is well-positioned to advance the field of early childhood education and I look forward to being part of CCA’s dedicated team that is fulfilling this significant mission. “
Dr. Davis joined the agency on July 8.
