Dallas Indian Arts Collective opens as a multi-disciplinary, Indian arts NonProfit

This story originally appeared on Park Cities People.

Dallas Indian Arts Collective (DIAC) is a new NonProfit in North Texas, founded by Jitin Hingorani, also founder of the DFW South Asian Film Festival (SAFF), in partnership with Anu Agarwal, the founder of One Society by Shastra. The DIAC is a multi-disciplinary, Indian arts non-profit.

DIAC’s mission is to create a cross-cultural platform to promote understanding and appreciation of Indian performing, visual and literary arts.

“Arts creates [ex]change and through the success of SAFF, we have noticed that Dallasites are hungry for quality South Asian programming in our art-friendly city,” Hingorani told Park Cities People. “Much like the independent films we bring to North Texas every year, we now hope to bring independent artists — dancers, singers, playwrights, authors, painters, sculptors –to add to the vibrancy of our cultural landscape.”

DIAC’s launch production is the musical play “Three Women” by Isheeta Ganguly. The one-night-only event will be shown from 7 to 9 p.m. June 14. at the Marshall Family Performing Arts Center at GreenHill School.
