Tarrant Literacy Coalition welcomes new Executive Director

The Tarrant Literacy Coalition will welcome its new Executive Director, Amy Rasor, during a reception on Friday, Feb. 23. The reception will also serve as a time to honor the founding Executive Director, Kathryn B. Thompson. Thompson announced in Dec. 2017 that she would be stepping down to spend more time with her family.

Rasor joins the organization with 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She was most recently the Chief Development Officer for Girls Inc. of Tarrant County and served many roles in her 8 years of service there. Prior to Girls Inc., Rasor worked for the Amon Carter Museum of American Art for 10 years.

Rasor received the Directors of Volunteers in Agencies Tarrant County Deborah Evans Young award for excellence in Volunteer Management in 2012 and earned her CFRE, Certified Fund Raising Executive certification in 2014. She was also selected as a 2015 Fort Worth Business Press 40 Under 40 Award Recipient.

The Tarrant Literacy Coalition reception will take place from 9:30 am – 11:30 am at the Agape Baptist Church Faith Hall in Fort Worth.

Past and present students, volunteers, donors, literacy partners, community members are all welcome to attend, and may RSVP to info@tarrantlit.org
