Here are two recent federal grant opportunities:

Talent Search Program

  • Funder: Department of Labor
  • Expected number of awards: 175
  • Cost sharing required? No
  • Due date: May 1, 2026
  • Award range: $250,000 to $10 million
  • Eligibility: nonprofits, institutions of higher education, independent school districts, tribal organizations, and tribal and state governments.
  • Description: The purpose of the Talent Search Program is to identify qualified individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds with potential for education at the postsecondary level and encourage them to complete secondary school and undertake postsecondary education. Talent Search projects publicize the availability of, and facilitate the application for, student financial assistance for persons who seek to pursue postsecondary education, and encourage persons who have not completed programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete these programs.

Family Treatment Court Program

  • Funder: Department of Justice
  • Expected number of awards: 11
  • Cost sharing required? Yes
  • Closing date: April 27, 2026
  • Award range: up to $2 million
  • Eligibility: Tribal, state, city, and county governments.
  • Summary: This NOFO will support state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Tribal governments to establish new, enhance existing, or implement statewide or countywide family treatment courts to ensure the provision of substance use treatment and other services that improve child, parent, and family outcomes.
