UWorld Cares Announces Opening of 2024 Grant Availability

UWorld, a leading provider of online learning tools for high-stakes exams, announced the opening of applications for UWorld Cares, a company-wide program committed to driving success in education by investing in the communities it serves. This initiative extends the company’s ongoing philanthropic efforts by focusing on its three pillars of charitable giving: community grants, product scholarships, and employee engagement.

Increasing funding to $175,000, UWorld Cares aims to focus on partnering with community organizations to create a stronger pathway to higher education, address skills gaps in the workforce, and remove barriers to higher education. UWorld is accepting grant applications from Dallas/Fort Worth-based 501(c)(3) organizations located in Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties. Areas of focus include educational programming for middle and high school students focused on STEM and financial literacy. Organizations will be notified in May if their request has been approved. Grant applications are open from January 1 until March 31, 2024.

Additionally, UWorld Cares will continue to accept scholarship applications for exam prep products across resources for the bar and the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam throughout the year, providing more than $4 million for students during the 2023-2024 academic year.

“We are excited to give back to our community through our UWorld Cares program so we can help reduce barriers to higher education,” said Chandra S. Pemmasani, M.D., founder and CEO of UWorld. “We continue to support the important work of our current organization partners while expanding the impact of this grant to new areas of STEM and financial education.”

In 2023, UWorld employees volunteered more than 800 hours in their local communities, while the company and its employees donated more than $83,000 to more than 120 organizations around the country through employee giving and matching gifts.
