Local nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Tarrant County are invited to apply for funding through United Way of Tarrant County’s 2025 Women’s Fund Request for Proposals (RFP) process.
The Women’s Fund, led by Women United, will offer a total of $75,000 in capacity-building grants in 2025. The fund aims to support programmatic work that is tested, evidence-based, replicable and designed to create measurable community impact. This RFP process is open to eligible organizations addressing issues related to women and girls in alignment with these areas:
- Community Health: Ensuring a community where everyone can be safe and healthy, with a particular focus on underserved neighborhoods.
- Financial Empowerment: Equipping individuals and families with the tools for independence, from financial literacy to stable housing and transportation.
- Education and Learning: Preparing the current and future workforce to contribute to their own success and to their community.
Examples of Capacity Building:
- Financial audit
- Employee training
- Fundraising consulting (examples include grant training but not grant writing services; board trainings; creation of a fundraising plan)
- Strategic planning
- Technology systems, software, or equipment needs to improve efficiency, productivity, or sustainability
- Other infrastructure needs

- Application Release: Friday, Jan. 3, 2025
- Application Deadline: Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at 5 p.m. CST
- Finalists Informed: Friday, March 7, 2025
- In-Person Finalist Presentations: Thursday, April 10, 2025
- Annual Investing in Impact Luncheon (Awards Announcement): Thursday, May 8, 2025
- Funding Period: July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for funding, organizations must:
- Have an annual operating budget of $3 million or less
- Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in good standing with the IRS since Jan. 1, 2023
- Serve clients in Tarrant County
- Certify that at least 75% of the clients benefitting from grant funding are women and/or girls inclusive of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expressions
Application Process
- Eligibility Form: Organizations must complete an eligibility form before receiving access to the online application portal.
- Online Submission: Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. CST on Feb. 7, 2025 through the online portal.
- Review Process: Applications will be assessed through a desktop audit followed by review by Women United’s volunteer grant panelists.
- Finalist Presentations: Selected applicants will present proposals in person on April 10, 2025, at United Way of Tarrant County’s main office (201 N. Rupert St., Fort Worth, TX 76107).
