The Dallas News reports that Dallas-based The Family Place has received a $40,000 grant from Uber to offer safe transportation for domestic-violence survivors.
The grant includes ride credits and cash to provide 1,600 rides to clients.
The Family Place along with five other Dallas-area nonprofits received funds as part of Uber’s Community Impact Imitative. The other nonprofits include Empowering the Masses, the Human Rights Imitative of North Texas, Jubilee Park and Community Center and Paul Quinn College.
