Texas Women’s Foundation Announces New Board Chair and New Board Members

Texas Women’s Foundation (TXWF) has appointed Carrie Freeman Parsons as the new board chair for a two-year term starting July 1, 2023. She follows Hilda Galvan who has led the Foundation since 2021. Galvan will remain on the Executive Committee as Past Chair. 

Texas Women’s Foundation is Transforming Texas for Women and Girls, empowering them to build stronger, more equitable communities. Since inception in 1985, the Foundation has invested $74 million in women and girls, including $60 million since 2011. The Foundation’s statewide research on issues affecting women and girls provides decision-makers and lawmakers with critical data to inform policies, practices and programs in the state. Its advocacy, grantmaking and innovative programs support solutions that help Texas women and girls thrive.

In addition, the Foundation has added new board members Elizabeth Asturi, Lisette Mendez and Aracely Muñoz. Returning to the board are Michelle Hudson and Phyllis Bernstein.
