    This week: Fort Worth Country Day, Nexus Family Recovery Center, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, The Meadows Foundation

    Fort Worth Country Day (FWCD), has named Barry Chamberlin as its new athletic director, effective July 1, 2026. His deep experience in athletic leadership, coaching, and student-athlete development, including over 15 years in athletic administration, made him the ideal choice to lead the Falcons.

    Nexus Family Recovery Center, has announced that Claire Collins was appointed as Chief Philanthropy Officer. Collins brings over 16 years of experience in the non-profit sector and will oversee all private fundraising for the agency as well as Nexus’ Recovery Rising Campaign. 

    Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) appointed Brian Slye as its new CEO. A former Club kid turned North Texas business leader, Slye steps into the role as the organization builds on its 60-year legacy of serving local youth. 

    Barbara Lundgren is starting a new position as Human Resources Director at Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.

    The Meadows Foundations welcomes Monica Christopher as our new Chief Philanthropy Officer! With a distinguished career in philanthropy and community impact, Monica will help guide our work across Texas as we continue improving the quality of life for Texans statewide.

  • The Meadows Foundation accepts funding proposals

    Applications are being accepted for grants to support arts and culture, civic and public affairs, education, the environment, human services and health in communities across Texas.

    The Meadows Foundation, which funds grants throughout the state, has five priority initiatives linked to long-term goals: post-secondary completion, educator preparation, water conservation, depression and homelessness. Emphasis is given to applications focused on these areas.

    Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. The Foundation’s Board of Directors meets five times a year to consider proposals, in January, April, June, September and November. The Foundation’s grant cycle takes four to five months from receiving the proposal to making a final decision. Applicants will be notified within two weeks of a decision if the request has been approved or declined. One proposal can be submitted every 12 months.

    The Meadows Foundation is a private family foundation on a mission to improve the quality and circumstances of life for the people of Texas now and in the future. It was founded by Al and Virginia Meadows, who believed all Texans deserve the same gift they were afforded – the opportunity to live a happy, healthy and productive life.

    Since the Foundation was established in 1948, more than $1.32 billion has been awarded in grants and charitable distributions to 3,600 institutions and agencies serving the people of Texas.

  • Meadows Foundation Awards Grants to Ten North Texas Nonprofits

    My Sweet Charity reports Dallas-based The Meadows Foundation has announced they have awarded grants totaling $2,734,800 to ten North Texas nonprofits. The awards range from $10,000 to $175,000.
