The Fort Worth Business Press reports that Dr. Harriet Harral, executive director of Leadership Fort Worth, has announced her retirement. Dr. Harral has served in this role for the past 25 years.
Dr. Harral will serve until June 2020 and a search in underway for her successor.
BoardBuild, located in Fort Worth, has named Pam Cannell as CEO. BoardBuild was founded in 2019 and contributes to the success of nonprofit organizations by filling their boards with skilled individuals who seek to make a positive impact on their communities.
“I am honored to steward the mission of BoardBuild in North Texas and beyond,” said Cannell. “BoardBuild envisions a world where diverse, trained leaders and organizations can unite and foster strong communities in which to work, play, and grow.”
Formed through a partnership between the United Way of Tarrant County and Leadership Fort Worth, BoardBuild provides online training for potential nonprofit board members and also offers nonprofits the opportunity to post board openings.
The Fort Worth Business Press reports a new nonprofit called BoardBuild is being formed to help nonprofits build better, well-trained boards. Led by the United Way of Tarrant County and Leadership Fort Worth, the new organization will strengthen communities through training and matching leaders with qualified nonprofit boards.
The 2018 Leadership Class of Leadership Fort Worth studied the issues around the lack of support for nonprofit boards of directors and types of available training. This will also help in creating diversity in nonprofit boards as suitable board members are identified through BoardBuild.
BoardBuild plans a soft launch in July and a hard launch in the fall.
