The H100 Latina Giving Circle at Texas Women’s Foundation currently seeks funding proposals from nonprofit organizations located in Dallas, Collin and Tarrant Counties that empower Hispanic women and girls to achieve their potential, or support the under-served Hispanic community of North Texas in general.
The H100 Latina Giving Circle is a committee of Hispanic 100, representing a 25-year history of delivering and transforming Latina women and girls through its collective strength and experiences to influence change.
Grants of up to $10,000 per-nonprofit will be made during the 2022 giving cycle, focused on the following areas:
- Human Safety & Security – Healthcare services, human safety, childhood literacy & education, family support (childcare services, parental or caregiving education), bilingual services, Hispanic women’s civil rights services, integrative financial support and literacy, and food security.
- Learning and Development – Job readiness, college readiness, career readiness, and return to work programs.
H100 is open to all donors who desire to pool resources and leverage their networks and expertise to award community grants that support social change and services for the DFW area. H100 Latina Giving Circle members represent a wide range of Hispanic cultures, ethnicities and professions to increase the economic empowerment of local Hispanic women and girls.
Since 2019, H100 Latina Giving Circle has awarded $391,000 through 74 grants and 49 non-profit organizations.
Priority for the current giving cycle will be given to programs and services that help improve the long-term economic circumstances of Hispanic women and children to empower their families and communities, including job-, college- and career-readiness programs, STEM programs, and safety and security programs. Grant decision making criteria also includes data-driven impact that demonstrates clear understanding of the issue(s) and design of programs and services that effectively address the needs of Hispanic women and girls, followed by data to support short-term and long-term improved social impact.
Funding requests will also be evaluated for demonstration of cultural awareness and responsiveness, having both bi-lingual services, content, and other specific skills to address the needs of Hispanic women and girls. And, requests will be assessed for demonstrated support for all women and girls – inclusive of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Organizations with a history of working with under-resourced or marginalized Hispanic women and girls are the focus of the giving circle.
To be eligible, beneficiaries of funded projects, programs and proposals must be a majority of women and girls of Hispanic heritage. Requesting organizations must demonstrate strong Hispanic board, leadership and staff representation.
Applications must be submitted through the online grant portal by June 3 at 5 p.m. Notification of attending a virtual meeting or elimination from consideration will be given on June 30 and final notification of grant status will occur in September.
