  • Texas Women’s Foundation Launches H100 Latina Giving Circle

    The Texas Women’s Foundation has announced the H100 Latina Giving Circle at Texas Women’s Foundation has officially launched and joins three other giving circles hosted at Texas Women’s Foundation: Orchid Giving Circle, HERitage Giving Fund and The Village Giving Circle. 

    The H100 Latina Giving Circle was formed by the Hispanic 100 Network to further engage Latinas in philanthropy and to expand resources for local organizations whose mission is to empower, educate and support Latinas and the community. The Hispanic 100 is a network of trailblazing Latina leaders in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Hispanic 100 Network is contributing $50,000 as a matching gift to launch the Circle, so all gifts will be matched up to that amount. 

    Patricia Rodriguez Christian, H100 Latina Giving Circle Chair, said, “As a leading organization, the Hispanic 100 is proud to be partnering with Texas Women’s Foundation in our philanthropic efforts by establishing the H100 Latina Giving Circle. For over a decade, we have supported many non-profit organizations through our annual grants cycle. We have witnessed the life-changing impact that funding makes in the daily lives of the women and girls served through our funding. We also know that when women do well, the entire community does well.  Through the collaborative relationship at Texas Women’s Foundation, we are positively impacting the future of Latinas especially, young Latinas; and, that is good news for the North Texas community and beyond.”

    Roslyn Dawson Thompson, Texas Women’s Foundation president and CEO, said, “Texas Women’s Foundation is honored to welcome the H100 Latina Giving Circle to our family of giving circles. Giving circles have grown in popularity as an important way for women of shared heritages and interests to raise and distribute funds to organizations that are creating positive change in our communities. In fact, since 2016, the Giving Circles at Texas Women’s Foundation have awarded more than $500,000 to community organizations in North Texas.”  

    The H100 Latina Giving Circle is open to anyone who has a desire to join a legacy of philanthropy that creates positive change by investing in the lives of young Latinas. Donors of the H100 Latina Giving Circle have the opportunity to give, connect and participate in the grant making process with a range of opportunities to review, vet and vote on a selection of grantees.

  • Texas Women’s Foundation Honors Seven Women for Leadership and Service

    Texas Women’s Foundation shared their annual Leadership Forum & Awards Dinner, presented by AT&T, was held on May 2 at the Omni Dallas Hotel. The event featured keynote speaker Sallie Krawcheck, CEO and co-founder of Ellevest, and chair of Ellevate Network. The event, co-chaired by Retta Miller of Jackson Walker LLP and Thear Suzuki of EY, celebrated trailblazers who are paving the way for women and girls to advance in leadership. It also elevated the importance of gender equity.

    The Foundation honored five women with the Maura Women Helping Women Award, presented by Texas Capital Bank: Dee Dee Bates, Sally Dunning, Ana I. Hernandez, Ashlee Kleinert and Nicole Small. The organization also gave the Young Leader Award, presented by Jackson Walker, to Dr. HaeSung Han and Ana I. Rodriguez. 

    The event was attended by more than 800 and raised more than $600,000 for the leadership programs and initiatives of Texas Women’s Foundation.

  • Dallas Women’s Foundation is now Texas Women’s Foundation

    The Dallas Women’s Foundation is changing it’s name to the Texas Women’s Foundation. This transformation comes as a way to honor the history of the foundation as they continue their work across the state, transforming Texas for women and girls.
