Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth Receives Remarkable Impact Grant

The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth (RMHFW) was selected to receive a grant to support an expanded Meals from the Heart program, which is focused on the wellness and nutrition of families staying at RMHFW. The expansion will enable the organization to increase the number of meals served to RMHFW families, eliminate waste, provide healthy meal planning, maintain kitchen inventory and allocate food to other RMHFW programs.

“We are thrilled to be a recipient of the RMHC 2019 Remarkable Impact Grant program. The expansion of our meals program will ensure that our families are receiving high-quality nutrition. This also means that we can be forward thinking in the elimination of waste, which allows RMHFW to be good stewards of donations and the environment,” said Jennifer Johns, CEO of RMHFW.

Critical to the success of the Remarkable Impact Grants program is the element of community engagement. Meals from the Heart is the signature group volunteer experience offered by RMHFW and has proven to be a stellar way to engage the community in the mission. “Meal groups will receive more in-depth orientations and trainings, and meal prep information. I am confident community groups will immediately feel that they have made the one-on-one connections with families they strive for when seeking out volunteer opportunities,” said Johns.
