Pajamas for Seniors receive impactful $100k+ donation

Recipients were given the donated clothing along with other items for Easter.

Pajamas for Seniors recently received more than $101,500 in cash and in-kind donations benefiting low-income seniors living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

The donation was made by Dallas-based Lone Star Monarchs in collaboration with Jill Donovan, founder of Rustic Cuff. It included a donation of $5,000 as well as $2,500 worth of new pajamas from the founders of Lone Star Monarchs, Regina Bruce and Dr. Carla Russo. More than $94,000 worth of new pajamas were donated by Rustic Cuff.

Pajamas for Seniors exists because the majority of nursing home residents arrive wearing only a hospital gown. Many seniors do not have resources for new sleepwear. The organization believes that providing a new set of pajamas represents dignity.

Lone Star Monarchs was founded to build an effective network of individuals and organizations to support a broad spectrum of charitable organizations in Dallas and throughout Texas.
