Funding for Conservation of Wetlands

  • Funder: Fish and Wildlife Service
  • Award range: up to $3M
  • Closing date: July 10, 2025
  • Expected number of awards: 15
  • Cost sharing required? Yes
  • Eligibility: Nonprofits, small businesses, independent school districts, institutions of higher education, and state, city, special district, tribal, and county governments

Summary: Funding from this program will support public-private partnerships carrying out projects in the US that further the goals of the North American Wetlands Conservation Act. Partnership projects must involve a) only long-term protection, restoration, enhancement and/or establishment of wetland and associated upland habitats to benefit diversity of wetland ecosystems and b) maintaining an abundance of waterfowl (ducks, geese, and swans) and other populations of wetlands-associated migratory birds consistent with the objectives of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan, U.S. Shorebird Conservation Plan, Waterbird Conservation Plan for the Americas, and Partners in Flight Bird Conservation Plan. Summary: Grants will provide funding for capital and related improvements to qualified shipyard facilities that will be effective in fostering efficiency, competitive operations, and quality ship construction, repair, and reconfiguration.
