New KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation accepting grant applications

Dallas Innovates reported that North Texas law firm KoonsFuller has created the KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation as a way to do social good. The law firm has launched this Foundation as a celebration of KoonsFuller’s 40 years in business as now the largest family law firm in the Southwest.

The foundation will support nonprofits in both North Texas and Houston which focus on arts and culture, education, family violence, children or health and legal aid.

Managing Shareholder and CEO Ike Vanden Eykel said in a release, “We have established the KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation because we work with families – so we have a passion for serving families. We want to invest in the communities throughout Texas where our attorneys and clients live and work.”

In conjunction with the launch of the Foundation, KoonsFuller has designed a 40th anniversary charitable campaign, KoonsFuller Gives a Damn. “In 2018, the Foundation will award $200,000 in charitable grants,” Houston Managing Shareholder Sherri Evans said in the release. “We are 40 years old and have five offices – 40 x 5 is 200. That is the magic behind our $200,000 first-year commitment.”

KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation is partnering with The Dallas Foundation. Its grant process will be managed through The Dallas Foundation’s online application portal. Questions about the grantmaking process should be addressed to Brittani Trusty, Program Officer at The Dallas Foundation.

Interested organizations can start an application here. Application deadline is August 31, 2018.
