WFAA reports a new community center is under development in the Las Vegas Trail area of Fort Worth. The Fort Worth City Council approved the purchase of the Westside YMCA and the facility will be renovated into a community center for area residents. The YMCA will continue to operate their youth programs and LVT Rise will begin offering services in April as the property undergoes renovations.
Las Vegas Trail (LVT) Rise is a partnership under the United Way of Tarrant County and along with other nonprofits and for-profit organizations will help revitalize the crime-heavy portion of west Fort Worth.
