Legacy Association makes plans with City of Plano for new Cultural District

This story originally appeared on Plano Profile.

A partnership has been announced between Legacy Association and the City of Plano to designate part of Plano’s Legacy area as a Cultural District by the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA).

The Legacy Association is the nonprofit organization created in 1987 by Ross Perot to govern the Legacy area.

The new Legacy Cultural District would include The Shops at Legacy and Legacy West.

Plano Profile reports that the City of Plano hopes the area will be designated sometime during 2019. A nonprofit will be founded at that time as the Cultural District Management Entity, whose job would be to “encourage stakeholders to take an active role in the future development of the area”.
