Folds of Honor receives large donation from Dallas Mavericks and Anheuser-Busch

The North Texas Chapter of national nonprofit Folds of Honor was presented with a check in the amount of $18,064 on behalf of the Dallas Mavericks and Anheuser-Busch during halftime at the Feb. 10 Mavericks vs. Lakers game.

Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban and Anheuser-Busch Vice President David Craig presented the check in person to Major Dan Rooney, veteran and founder of the organization.

“The Folds of Honor could not be more excited about our new partnership with the Dallas Mavericks,” Folds of Honor Regional Development Officer Sarah Duncan said in a press release. “We are so honored to work with such an outstanding organization and look forward to providing opportunities to our very deserving military families by way of educational scholarships through the Mavericks generous support.”

The overall goal of the partnership was to highlight the Folds of Honor Scholarship mission, an initiative supporting the education of the dependents of fallen and disabled service members. The Dallas Mavericks partnered with Anheuser-Busch, Ben E. Keith Distributors and Levy Concessionaires and  worked with Scholarship recipients, donors, corporate partners, and supporters to help bring awareness and fundraising to the forefront throughout the entire month of November.

“Budweiser and Anheuser-Busch are committed to supporting our Military and their families. Out of all of the NBA partners, our hometown Dallas Mavericks were able to put together a program that led the League in fundraising for Folds. And for that we say, ‘Dallas Mavs, this Bud’s for you,’” said David Craig, Regional Vice President of Sales for Budweiser, in a press release.
