Fair Park to be managed by nonprofit Fair Park First Foundation

Culture Map Dallas reported that the Dallas City Council voted unanimously to hand control of Fair Park over to the Fair Park First Foundation, a nonprofit that will oversee management of the park.

The day to day operations of the park will be overseen by Spectra, a Comcast-owned, for-profit organization. Culture Map Dallas reported that Spectra manages over 300 other properties across the U.S., including 22 fairgrounds.

The city council approved $36.4 million to fund Fair Park over the next 10 years.
