WWX17: 3rd Annual Hot Time in the City
WWX17 Hosts Free Event Offering Radical Hospitality to Fort Worth’s Unhoused –07/12/25
FORT WORTH, TX — On Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Fort Worth–based nonprofit WWX17 will host its 3rd Annual Hot Time in the City!—a free, outdoor celebration and community give-away—outside Mt. Calvary Church (1000 E. Stella St, Fort Worth, TX 76104).
This event centers unhoused individuals and housing-insecure families by removing common barriers to access: no ID, no income verification—just show up and be served with dignity.
Guests will receive:
– Mobile showers and haircuts
– Hygiene kits, diapers, luggage, and clothing
– Backpacks, books, food, and resources
– Free vision gifts from America’s Best
– Mobile device charging stations
– Support and information from Fort Worth Fire Department
– Tables hosted by community partners and social service organizations
Sponsors and partners include Bombas Socks, CleanUp USA, America’s Best, the Fort Worth Fire Department, and Community Engagement Specialist B. Harper, among others.
“This isn’t charity—it’s community,” says Dr. Cynthia B. Brown, WWX17 Executive Director. “We’re cultivating dignity-centered care rooted in equity and love.”
WWX17 is a Fort Worth–based nonprofit founded in memory of Waymond II and Wesley Pearce. The organization is led by women, veterans, and Black community advocates committed to systemic change through radical hospitality and collaborative outreach.
