CASETA 18th Annual Symposium & Texas Art Fair

Nonprofit organization, Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art (CASETA) is hosting their 18th Annual Symposium & Texas Art Fair Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Hilton Lincoln Centre. Registration for the event is now open at www.caseta.org.
The symposium will feature a variety of lectures and conversations centering around Early Texas art as well as exclusive tours of private collections.
Special presentations include:
– A look at works on paper by Sue Canterbury, the Pauline Gill Sullivan Curator of American Art at the Dallas Museum of Art
– A discussion on Impressionism by Emily Neff, the Kelso Director at the San Antonio Museum of Art
– Michael Grauer, the McCasland Chair of Cowboy Culture and Curator of Cowboy Collections and Western Art at the National Cowboy Museum, will discuss Early Texas female artists.
– Veletta Lill, Dallas preservation leader, will discuss the recent Hall of State restoration project, both before and after the 2021 ice storm.
The Symposium will open with “Charles Umlauf and his Muses” at 6 PM on Friday, June 10 followed by the opening ceremony and cocktail reception from 6:30 to 9:30 that evening. The Symposium will begin again on Saturday, June 11 at 9:30 AM and will conclude for the day at 8:30 PM. Sunday, June 12 will be the final day of the Symposium, opening at 10 AM and closing with an optional tour of the Hall of State in the afternoon.
