Boys and Girls Clubs Dallas partners with New York Life Foundation to expand access to sports

For young people at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas’ Mesquite Club, a new place to play is officially on the way. Club members took to the field Thursday for soccer drills and small-sided games before putting their own mark on the future mini-pitch, covering the concrete slab with colorful chalk drawings and messages. Once complete, the new soccer space will expand access to sports and recreation for youth at the Club.

Made possible through support from the New York Life Foundation’s Coaching the Future initiative, a $3.2 million, three-year effort supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s growing sports strategy to expand access to play and strengthen youth coaching. The new soccer space will give young people greater access to sports and recreation as part of BGCD’s broader focus on healthy lifestyles and helping young people reach their full potential.
