Animal rescue nonprofits get a big win in legislation

Aprrrrroved without opposition, Texas Senate Bill 197, exempts the prices and fees for adopting pets from nonprofit animal shelters and similar organizations from any sales tax. The bill currently awaits Governor Abbott’s signature.
