Safe and Sound Schools will host the Lone Star School Safety Summit on Threat Assessment in White Settlement, Texas on October 21–22, 2026. The two-day event will bring together school leaders, educators, mental health professionals and law enforcement for practical training on behavioral threat assessment, violence prevention and coordinated approaches to protecting students.

Featured speakers include at this year’s conference include:

• Dr. Amy Grosso is an accomplished mental health expert and suicide prevention advocate. While in Texas, Dr. Amy Grosso established Round Rock ISD’s Behavioral Health Services Department and pioneered the district’s threat assessment process. She also played a vital role in strengthening collaboration between behavioral health professionals and law enforcement with Round Rock Police Department. She currently serves as Director, Expert in Residence with Raptor Technologies.
• Dr. Kate Rahi – Dr. Kate Rahi, a Licensed Master Social Worker with a Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law, brings extensive expertise in behavioral threat assessment, crisis response, and violence prevention. As a current Texan, she remains committed to strengthening school safety through evidence-based training, collaboration, and sustainable prevention strategies.
