Arlington-based Women Inspiring Philanthropy will invest $50,000 to boost Arlington’s Levitt Pavilion “Share The Stage” initiative supporting local music talent. The new program seeks to showcase “diverse, emerging, and established musical talent based in North Texas/the DFW Metroplex,” primarily through booking local talent as opening acts for the Levitt’s free concert series, which you can learn about here.
Among the local artists already featured this season as part of Share the Stage are: Blaine Mitchell (a folk/soul artist who appeared on NBC’s “The Voice”); DFW music journalist favorite Elaina Kay (a country singer-songwriter); and Texicana (up-and-coming Dallas indie rockers). View a rundown of local talent booked for the fall season here.

The Levitt free concert season is currently paused to accommodate the Texas heat, but will resume Labor Day weekend with the legendary Brave Combo (“nuclear polka”) on Friday night, followed by The Texas Gentlemen (“chicken scratch country funk”) and Gina Chavez (Grammy-nominated Latin singer-songwriter) on Saturday and Sunday nights.
’80s rock legends Styx will play the Levitt on October 16 for the venue’s fall fundraiser; stay tuned for details about an upcoming concert by Lee Greenwood on 9/11.
