2023 Goodwill Classic raises more than $72K

The 16th annual Goodwill Classic was held on Monday, November 6 at Mira Vista Country Club, raising more than $72,167 for Goodwill North Central Texas, an organization that helps rebuild lives through job training and placement programs.

Billed as a “Tournament of Excellence,” the golf scramble hosted more than 120 golfers including former Major League baseball players Doyle Alexander, Jose Guzman, Larry Hardy and Dave Owen, along with Goodwill Board of Directors and sponsors of the Goodwill Classic. All proceeds from the tournament support Goodwill mission services focusing on the homeless (GoodwillWorks), at-risk youth (E-Squared), veterans (VetWorthy), the disadvantaged and the disabled (S.T.A.R.S.).

“As we gathered on the greens of Mira Vista Country Club, we not only celebrated a day of exceptional golf but also rallied together to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need,” said David Cox, President & CEO of Goodwill North Central Texas. “The generosity displayed will resonate far beyond the tournament, fueling Goodwill North Central Texas’ mission to rebuild lives through education, training, and the power of work.”

Since its inception in 2008, more than $1.9 million has been raised by the golf tournament. In 2022, 7,761 lives were touched through Goodwill’s Workforce Development Programs.
